Mount Pleasant is a recently renovated three bedroom Cornish Cottage, 5 minutes walk from the spectacular coast path in historic Boscastle. The cottage is on a quiet lane in the upper part of Boscastle village. It is a short walk either to the dramatic Cornish coastline or the characterful shops and pubs that Boscastle has to offer.
The cottage has traditional flagstone floors on the ground floor. A cosy lounge with a log burning stove (logs not supplied but available locally) and TV (free sat channels) plus DVD player. Also a kitchen/dining room with usual appliances plus dishwasher, combi washing machine/tumble dryer and microwave. There is a downstairs shower room with WC and basin. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one double, one twin and one single bedroom (which in fact has a pull-out double bed). Plus a bathroom with shower over bath, WC and basin. From the upstairs rooms there are good views of the hills surrounding the village.
Outside is an enclosed, south facing garden with summer house, seating and small lawn.
Parking is on the quiet lane outside the cottage, you can unload right by the gate but the road is a little wider further along which may be better to park.
A child's cot (bring your own cot bedding) and high chair are available to use if needed.
Dogs are welcome downstairs only but not to be left alone in the property unless caged please.
Boscastle itself is a bustling coastal village with a small medieval harbour. The village has 3 good pubs, as well as a number of shops, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance from Mount Pleasant. It is an excellent starting point for some superb walks, including the North Cornwall coast path and up the Vallency valley to Minster and St Juliot's church, of Thomas Hardy fame.
There are a number of local beaches within easy reach by car, including Trebarwith and Crackington Haven (both a 10 minute drive). Closer and accessible at low tide by steps from the coast path are tiny Bossiney and much larger The Strangles.
Tintagel, with its dramatic Arthurian castle, is only a 5 minute drive away. Further afield, larger resorts such as Polzeath, Rock and Bude are within easy reach by car. Inland, moody Bodmin Moor makes an excellent trip whatever the weather, whether to the famous Jamaica Inn or the excellent moorland walking to Brown Willy around St Breward (30 mins). Cornish highlights which are also easily accessible include Padstow (40 mins), The Eden Project (St Austell, 45 mins), Heligan Gardens (Mevagissey, 60 mins) and Lands End (75 mins).
